Things I used to forget before I had a place to write them down...etc.

From Et cetera
Welcome to Et cetera, glad you could join us. Hey, you want an orange soda? By all means, reach into the nearest mini-fridge and grab one; make yourself at home as you sit back to take in this interactive web experience!
Just kidding, it's not really something I could sell tickets for, but it is my humble little corner of the internet where I get to pile all of my digital junk to be immortalized forever at the curbside of the information superhighway and I think that ought to count for something. Hi there, I'm Randall! A pleasure to meet you. If you're coming to this page for the first time, you may be wondering what it's about. If you're a repeat visitor, you'll likely already know that there's no real answer to that question. I've always described it as being self-explanatory, wherein the two Latin words et cetera are used as a suffix to mean "more of the same." Since nothing prefaces the Et cetera title, I figure I have free reign to use this webspace for whatever I please, and that's what I have done! It was made during a time when it was popular to have a "home page" about yourself, which has since been replaced by social networking websites with ready-built page structures and communities. However, MySpace was never really my space, if you know what I mean, so here we are.
Et cetera has existed since the late 1990s in varying forms. The content has never been interesting to a large audience, I'll tell you that right now, but if you've stuck around long enough to be entertained by what there is to offer thus far, here's a few links to push you around in relatively random directions.
Content Overview
| Entries | Historically, Et cetera was comprised of mostly just these stream of consciousness musings of mine and some date as far back as 2000. Just click on the numbers below, or refer to the Entries page for a more detailed breakdown.

| Web Log | After countless years of struggling with third-party software that I could never quite customize to my liking without paying for it, I now have a place to write a blog of my own. Although, I think the contraction of web log into "blog" is one of the Top 10 Ugliest Portmanteaux in the English language, but one can't fight the standards.
Moreover, this section is devoted to the fact that the original version of Et cetera started to turn into an angsty teenager's online diary and I didn't realize it until it was too late. Ever since porting to Et cetera 2000, I have always drawn a very definite distinction between what belongs in a journal and what qualifies as an entry. | |
| Vortals | Speaking of portmanteaux, this may be a slight misuse of the term "vortal," but essentially these are links to miniature sub-sections of Et cetera, some of which came from Et cetera 2000, some of which did not. On the whole, these sections cover a lot of different subjects, but unlike the entries which bounce around even in mid-sentence from time to time, these vertical portals each have a specific topical focus.
