Things I used to forget before I had a place to write them down...etc.
Things I Intend To Do Eventually
From Et cetera
In my head, I like to keep an ever-changing list of Things I Intend To Do Eventually. It's not a real list--I couldn't possibly write it out--and in fact, it's not even unique at all. I think everyone has one of these lists, it's just that most people refer to it as "goals" that they have in life.
The trouble with calling them "goals" is that I end up putting more pressure on myself to complete them than is really necessary. Besides, this list includes things that are so trivial that they probably wouldn't even qualify as "goals" in anyone else's life and it makes the sheer implausibility of accurately defining its contents a big part of the reason it exists in the first place. I like to be able to loosely define what it is I want to do with my life, but I know that this is mostly an internal list and this space is used primarily to keep track of the ones that I felt I might be in danger of forgetting, or otherwise feel the need to write'em down.

[edit] Master Shopping List
- Main article: Master Shopping List
I have fond memories of looking through the Sears WishBook every year when Christmas was just on the horizon. I'd flip through the catalog excitedly, circling all the things I wanted, knowing that I couldn't get them all. The stuff I didn't get, I would usually forget about--but not always. There are some things that I never got for Christmas that I still want to this day. Even some childish toys and games like Jenga are still among the Christmas wishes that never came true.
The Master Shopping List is what became of my list of unfulfilled wishes and it continues to collect those wishes even up to this day. Like many wish lists, it will always have more items added to it than removed because the majority of wishes simply do not come true. Nevertheless, I like to keep track of the things that I'm sure I would like to have some day if I could only afford it. This helps me decide what to do if I ever come into a giant lump sum of money, and it also helps me remember what is or was important to me. That way, if I have an extra five dollars, I'll know to spend it on a $5 item that I've wanted for a long time, instead of a cheeseburger or something.
